The Young Dragon Shrine |
Ah, the few, the proud, the fire-breathing.
Eleven of us met, one fateful day in 2004 (well, not really *met,* per se; virtually, that’s the ticket!) to compile what would one day become the Realms of the Dragons II anthology.
NOTE: I am listing the stories in the order in which they appear. Also, my shrine is in constant need of update and revision, so if you have anything to add anywhere herein, please let me know! |

Rosemary Jones |
(Emerald dragon—wise, mystic, and powerful.) |
“The Woman Who Drew Dragons”: A tale of mysticism and humility—an excellent addition.
Rosemary and I have crossed paths once before, and if it weren’t for our incredibly conflicting schedules, we'd hang out all the time, as we live in the same city! She is a dedicated and great lady. |

Latest novel: Crypt of the Moaning Diamond, third in the Dungeons series! Due out November. |
Erik Scott de Bie |
(Red dragon—boisterous, fierce, proud.) |
“The Hunting Game”: A deceptive sort of dragon hunt that ends badly for all involved—except the dragon.
I’ve said enough about myself, and you’re already on my site! :D |

Harley Stroh |
(Pseudodragon—tough, tempered, and definitely a scrapper.) |
“The Road Home”: A dragon in captivity is a dangerous dragon indeed—but he can lead to your destiny.
I’ve had the good pleasure of hanging out with Harley, and commiserating him when Goodman Games got snubbed at GenCon ’06. ’07, baby, ’07!
Harley has been nominated for certain ENnie awards for his game design. Harley for president! |

Kameron Franklin |
(Gold dragon: noble, strong, and righteous.) |
“How Burlmarr Saved the Unseen Protector”: A tale of sacrifice and the nobility of even the smallest person.
Kameron and I lived in relatively close proximity for some time (Vancouver, WA, and Salem, OR), but only met after I had moved farther away (to Seattle). I am honored to count him a great friend. |
Check out his blog/website at: http://www.kameronmf.com/
Latest novel: Maiden of Pain |

J.L. Collins |
(Brass dragon: dedicated, honest, humble) |
“A Tall Tale”: If you’re fortunate (or foolish enough) to capture a dragon, don’t go poking it!
J.L. is the heart and soul of the Young Dragons, and the force that has bound us together. He is an excellent, excellent fellow. |

Jim Pitrat |
(Magic dragon: mysterious, hidden, unknown) |
“The Book Dragon”: The best way to use a dragon is to point him toward your enemy.
Tragically, I know almost nothing about Jim and have never met nor shared any correspondence with him! If anyone finds a website or some-such, by all means let me know so I can link him up here. |

Ed Gentry |
(Blue dragon: mighty, awe-inspiring, clever) |
“Freedom’s Promise”: Dragons lie. Worse, sometimes they tell the truth.
Ed is another of the Young Dragons I am proud to call my friend. We played in Kameron's Red Hand of Doom game at GenCon ’06 . . . a game that has since become legend. |

Latest novel: Neversfall, book 1 of the Citadels |

James P. Davis |
(Fang dragon: sharp, cunning, dangerous.) |
“Possessions”: A story that proves that few things are as adept at killing as dragons—particularly killing fools that hunt them.
I have the honor and privilege to call James one of my friends, and, indeed, a fellow ghostwalker, owing to his novel, Bloodwalk. |

Latest novel: Bloodwalk |

Jaleigh Johnson |
(Amethyst Dragon: brilliant, timeless, mighty.) |
“Queen of the Mountain”: Some secrets are old, some are very powerful—and some are both. (Amethyst Dragon: brilliant, timeless, mighty.)
As she proved herself more than capable of dealing with all of us guys at GenCon ’06, Jaleigh truly is queen of the mountain. |

Latest novel: Howling Delve, second in the Dungeons series! Due out this July! |

Murray Leeder |
(Copper dragon: swift, clever, and whimsical) |
“The Strength of the Jester”: There are some things more powerful even than dragons can handle.
I have had little contact with Murray, but know him for a fine fellow and excellent writer to correspond with. We share an interest in Erevan Ilesere, jester of the Seldarine (elven pantheon in the Realms). |

Latest novel: Son of Thunder, third book of the Fighters! |

| And last but certainly not even approaching the faintest possibility of being least . . . |

Marcy Rockwell |
(Steel dragon: wise, learned, and disciplined*) |
| Marcy has stuck with us from very early on, and I think of her as an honorary Young Dragon. Marcy and I have not met, as yet, but I look forward to the correction of this travesty come August and GenCon. |
Blog: mrockwell
Latest novel: Legacy of Wolves, just out! |
| *Note that Marcy, as she didn’t have a story in the anthology, isn’t particularly labeled with a dragon of sorts. This is the first one that popped in my head, and is also a little of an homage to the steely Eberron setting, in which she is quickly establishing herself as an excellent participant. |

The Charitable Fencing Society |
| I am one of the founding members of this fledgling, non-profit group. Our basic concept is to use our love of fencing to generate donations to fund charities. Initially, we're focusing on South America, Columbia in particular--seeking to support children and education. We're only really in the planning stages thus far, but please check out our website and messageboards--register as a member, if you like! You can learn about fencing there, or support our efforts. |

Seattle D&D Meetup |
| This wonderful (and yes, more than a little geeky) organization is run by Jon, a great friend, reader, and avid supporter of my work. This group, which has swelled to great numbers, meets up at least twice a month--once to network for players to end up in gaming groups, once to game. It was through this organization that I found my current gaming group. If you live in Seattle and might be interested in meeting other D&D players, check out their website: http://dnd.meetup.com/192/ There are other meetups for D&D (and all different sorts of things) all over the country, as well. |
|
Pacific Northwest Writers Association |
| I am a member of the PNWA, a society of writers based in the Pacific Northwest. We don't all necessarily live in the Northwest, but our roots are here. I will be attending the PNWA conference this summer (July 26-29), in particular the signing/autograph party on Saturday evening, for anyone who wants to stop by and say hi. |
